Simon Davies

Simon Davies – Chief Executive Officer

Simon brings to 80/20 Thinking more than thirty years of experience as a consultant, media practitioner, writer and trainer.

He is a Visiting Senior Fellow within the Department of Management of the London School of Economics and has advised dozens of leading companies, professional organisations and government departments, including Microsoft, the UK Treasury, UNISYS, the British Medical Association and the UK Department for Work & Pensions.

Simon is regarded as one of the world’s foremost privacy experts, and is one of the pioneers of the international privacy arena. He is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society and is a Certified IT Professional (CITP).

Tom Dee

Thomas Dee - Operations Director

Tom has a wide-ranging background in a spectrum of business sectors including investment & private banking, recruitment, telecommunications, IT and Corporate Insurance. He has worked extensively in Europe, the Middle East and the United States and speaks several European languages.

Tom heads up 80/20 Thinking’s operations, logistics and administration.

Dr Gus Hosein

Dr Gus Hosein – Senior Consultant

Gus is a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Information Systems & Innovation Group within the Department of Management of the London School of Economics and Political Science. At the LSE he teaches and leads research on technology policy, and he co-directs the Policy Engagement Network. He is also a Senior Fellow at Privacy International where he leads research in international policy and regulation.

He has advised a number of international organisations, non-governmental organisations, governments and leading companies. His most recent work includes research and consultancies on consumer privacy issues and internet companies, the regulation of international financial data flows, and next generation border and identity systems.

He is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society and is a Certified IT Professional (CITP), and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce. He holds a PhD from the University of London and B.Math from the University of Waterloo.

Duncan Connor

Duncan Connor - Project Development Manager

Duncan has extensive experience in project and programme management in several spheres, including economic regeneration and bespoke training solutions for businesses and skills development programmes.

His portfolio of projects including development of solutions across various sectors including the creative industries, from disability career development and mentoring to economic support for small and medium businesses. His work involves coordinating the project management process; including creating partnerships and building project infrastructures. His role with 80/20 involves input into the development and management of consultancy and training projects.

Dr. Ian Brown

Dr. Ian Brown

Dr Ian Brown is a leading expert in the analysis of the implications and effect of IT systems. He is a research fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute, Oxford University, and an honorary senior lecturer at University College London. His recent work is focused on public policy issues around information and the Internet, particularly privacy, copyright and e-democracy. He also works in the more technical fields of information security, networking and healthcare informatics.

Since 1998 Dr Brown has variously been a director of Privacy International, the Open Rights Group and the Foundation for Information Policy Research and an adviser to Greenpeace and Creative Commons UK. He has consulted for the US Department of Homeland Security, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Allianz, McAfee, the BBC, the European Commission and the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
